This vacancy comes under Skill India program to empower the youth and generate a vast pool of employment for them. Following are all the necessary information for the Interested Candidates.

Under the SKILL INDIA Program – South Eastern Central Railway (SECR) has issued notification for 861 vacant positions under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rule 1992 – Nagpur Division and Workshop Motibagh of South Eastern Central Railway for the year 2024-25.Online Application for SECR Apprentice Recruitment 2024 through the official website from 10.04.2024 to 09.05.2024 are Invited from the eligible candidates for engagement as Trade Apprentice under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rule 1992 Nagpur Division and Workshop Motibagh/Nagpur South Eastern Central Railway.

SECR Apprentice Recruitment Eligibility 2024
To apply for the Apprenticeship Program under Skill India for the Location of Nagpur Division Or Workshop Motibagh South Eastern Central Railway (SECR) has set a certain eligibility criteria. Every candidate have to meet all the essential eligibility conditions. If in any case any candidate is found to be not eligible as per the given conditions then the administrations decision would be final. Also in some cases if administration finds fit it can allow some relaxation in the eligibility conditions on its discretion.
Age Criteria :
SECR has given some eligibility criteria for age also which should be followed when applying for the Apprenticeship. As per the Notification released by the administration the candidate’s age should not be less than 15 years and not more than 24 years. Age criteria would vary community wise. The starting date of application should be taken as scale for measuring the age in any confusion. The age as on 10.04.2024 should come in that bracket of eligibility.

Educational Qualification :
There are some minimum Educational Qualifications that a candidate should have to apply for this Apprenticeship program. There are only Two eligibility criteria for educational qualification here that is needed by every candidate. They are as follows :-
- The candidate must have passed Matriculation or any other Equivalent Examination with a minimum score of 50% marks AND
- National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training OR Provisional certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training / State Council for Vocational Training.
Note : The candidate must fill there 10th and ITI marks on the portal in qualification section otherwise there application will be automatically rejected. Also do not fill any other higher qualification.
SECR Apprentice Selection Process
Selection will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the students who apply against the notification. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in matriculation (with minimum 50%) plus ITI marks in the trade in which apprenticeship is to be done.
If marks of Two students are same then the older one in the age will be preferred. If age is also the same then the one who passed matriculation first will be considered.
Shortlisted one will have to verify all there original testimonials and should be found fit in appropriate Medical examination by Railway for workshop or units of division.
Candidates are advised to save or note down there Registration number issued when applying for the future reference use purpose.
Candidates have to choose Either Nagpur Division or Motibagh Workshop
SECR Apprentice Recruitment 2024 Training & Stipend :
The final shortlisted candidates of SECR Apprentice Recruitment 2024 will go under a training period of one year. The training will be regulated according to the standard/ syllabus issued by Central Apprenticeship Council. The SECR Apprentice will also be eligible for stipend as per the prescribed rate.
- For 2 year ITI course – Rs.8050/-
- For 1 year ITI course – Rs.7700/-
Medical Fitness :
Selected candidates may be advised to bring a medical certificate at the time of Document Verification in the prescribed proforma as per the Apprenticeship Act 1961 and Para 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992. The Medical Certificate should be signed by Government authorized Doctor, Not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon of Central/State Hospital. This will depend upon student for which location he has applied for and also for which trade he is willing, these two will be the deciding factor for Medical Fitness Document.
Agreement Of Training :
Before the commencement of Apprenticeship training, selected candidate has to enter into a Contract of Apprenticeship Training. If candidate is minor then his/her guardian has to enter into a contract of apprenticeship with the employer. Following are the contract clauses :-
- If the Contract of Apprenticeship is terminated for failure on the part of employer, the candidate will be paid apprentice compensation as prescribed.
- If the premature termination of Contract of Apprenticeship for the failure on the part of apprentice, the candidate or surety (in case of minor) has to pay such amount as is determined by the Apprenticeship Adviser as and towards the cost of training.
- It is not obligatory for the employer to offer any employment to the passed out trade apprentice on the completion of the period of apprenticeship training.
- It is also not obligatory for the Apprentice to accept any employment under the employer.
