NPCIL Executive Trainee Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 2024

Educational Qualifications :

To be eligible, you need:

  1. BE/BTech/BSc (Engineering)/5-year Integrated MTech with at least 60% marks.
  2. Your degree must be in one of six engineering disciplines listed.
  3. The marks requirement should meet your university’s standards.
  4. You need a valid GATE score from 2022, 2023, or 2024 in the same discipline as your degree.
  5. Candidates with a 5-year integrated M.Tech course and at least 60% marks in the relevant discipline can apply, along with meeting other criteria.
  6. Only the mentioned disciplines will be considered; equivalents won’t be accepted.
  7. Applicants awaiting final results or appearing for final exams in 2024 can apply, provided they meet other eligibility requirements. If selected, they must submit their final results by November 30, 2024, with at least 60% marks.

NPCIL Executive Trainee Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates for Executive Trainee 2024 will be shortlisted based on GATE scores from 2022, 2023, and 2024, with a ratio of 1 candidate for every 12 applicants with the same score.
  2. GATE Eligibility: Only valid GATE scores from 2022, 2023, and 2024 will be considered.
  3. Equal Weightage: GATE scores from these years will carry equal importance.
  4. PwBD Shortlisting: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities will be shortlisted separately based on a 1:12 ratio per disability category with reserved vacancies.
  5. Cut-off Display: Cut-offs for each discipline and category will be posted on NPCIL’s recruitment website.
  6. Interview Notification: Shortlisted candidates will receive interview details via Email/SMS and can download their call letters from the website.
  7. Final Selection: Selection will be based solely on interview performance and medical fitness, with no consideration of GATE scores. Unreserved candidates need 70%, while others require 60% in the interview.
  8. PwBD Merit List: Separate merit lists will be created for each PwBD category, and selection will follow the order of merit.
  9. Result Announcement: Interview results and offer letters will be available for download through individual logins on NPCIL’s recruitment website.
  10. Acceptance: Empanelled candidates must confirm their acceptance via email by the specified deadline.
  11. Tie-breaking: In case of tied interview marks, priority will be given first to higher GATE scores, then to the senior candidate in age.

Waitlist Operation:

Interview Schedule & Venue of NPCIL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2024

  • Interviews are tentatively scheduled from June 3rd to 15th, 2024.
  • Venues include Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-Maharashtra, Narora Atomic Power Station (NAPS)-Uttar Pradesh, Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS)-Tamil Nadu, and Kaiga Generating Station (KGS)-Karnataka.
  • Candidates can indicate their preferred interview venue in the online application, but NPCIL reserves the right to allocate dates and venues, with no further change requests entertained.
  • Candidates can choose to answer interview questions in either Hindi or English.

Verification of Original Documents:

  • Original documents will be verified at the interview. Failure to produce them will disqualify the candidate, with no travel reimbursement.
  • Required documents include:
    • Date of Birth proof (Xth Standard Passing Certificate or School Leaving Certificate).
    • Qualification documents (Mark sheets, Final Degree Certificate, Provisional passing Certificate if applicable).

Offer of Traineeship: Once selected, candidates will be offered traineeship according to the Corporation’s policy. Upon completing the training successfully, they will be appointed as Scientific Officer/C. During the probationary period of one year, their performance will be evaluated, and upon successful completion, they will be confirmed in the post.

Training:

Selected candidates will undergo one-year orientation training at designated Training Facilities:

  • Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) Stream: Nuclear Training Centers (NTC) at NPCIL sites.
  • Light Water Reactor (LWR) Stream: NTC at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) Site, Tamilnadu.
    1. Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, and Instrumentation disciplines may train in either PHWR or LWR Stream, selected based on preference indicated in the application.
    2. Civil discipline candidates do not select a ‘Reactor Stream’.
    3. NPCIL reserves the right to change training stream, venue, and duration.

NPCIL Executive Trainee Salary During Training:

  • Monthly stipend: Rs.55,000/-
  • One-time book allowance: Rs.18,000/-
  • Lodging & boarding provided by NPCIL.
    Pay – On Appointment as SO/C:
  • After training, appointed as Scientific Officer/C (Grade Pay Level 10, Pay Rs.56,100/-).
  • Additional allowances, incentives, and facilities based on extant rules and place of posting.

Bond :

Selected candidates must sign an agreement and indemnity bond of Rs.6,78,000/-, and serve NPCIL for at least three years after training.

Placement :

  • Upon completion of training, Executive Trainees may be posted at any DAE establishment in India or abroad as per organizational needs.
  • Majority of ETs for PHWR Stream may be posted at PHWR stations/projects across the country, while those for LWR Stream may be at LWR stations/projects (KKNPP Site).
  • Some ETs may also be posted at TAPS 1&2 Operating Station, Tarapur, Maharashtra.
  • Few ETs may be posted in functions like R&D, Design & Engineering, Procurement, Quality Assurance, etc.
