Salary Details

The selected candidates for the Associate Scientist posts at Maharashtra Remote Sensing Applications Centre (MRSAC) will be placed in Level S-20, offering a pay scale ranging from Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500. In addition to the basic salary, candidates will also be entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance, as per the norms set by the Government of Maharashtra.

MRSAC eligibility criteria

To apply for position, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria. These criteria include age limits, educational qualifications, and other requirements.

Educational Qualifications

• Urban Geography: M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch. in Urban Planning/Regional Planning with a minimum of 60% or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale, and B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. with at least 65% or CGPA 6.84.
• Civil Engineering: M.E./M.Tech in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 60% or CGPA 6.5, and B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with at least 65% or CGPA 6.84.
• Geology: M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech/M.Tech. in Geology/Applied Geology with a minimum of 60% or CGPA 6.5, and B.Sc. in Geology/Applied Geology with at least 65% or CGPA 6.84.
• Environment/Ecology: M.Sc in Environmental Sciences/Ecology with a minimum of 65% or CGPA 6.84, and B.Sc. in Ecology/Environmental Sciences with at least 60% or CGPA 6.5.
• Geoinformatics: M.Sc./M.Tech in Geoinformatics/Geomatics with a minimum of 65% or CGPA 6.84, and B.Sc./B.Tech with at least 60% or CGPA 6.5.

Special Notes:

• Pre-Eligibility for PG Courses: Candidates must hold a relevant undergraduate degree with the specified minimum marks or CGPA.
• AMIE Candidates: Must have a minimum of 65% marks or CGPA 6.84 in Section B alone.

Experience

• Required Experience: Four years of experience in the use of Remote Sensing and GIS within the respective field.
• Experience Source: Must be acquired after obtaining the relevant postgraduate degree.
• Institution Type: Experience should be from government institutes.
• Pay Level During Experience: Level S-14 (Rs. 38,600 – Rs. 1,22,800 per month).

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for all positions is 40 years as of 1st July 2024.

Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms for reserved categories.

MRSAC selection procedure

The recruitment process for the Associate Scientist positions will consist of the following stages:

• Written Examination:
  • Objective: To assess the technical knowledge and application skills related to the respective fields.
  • Format: Objective-type questions covering Remote Sensing, GIS, and subject-specific topics.
• Interview:
  • Objective: To evaluate the candidate’s suitability, problem-solving abilities, and overall competency.

MRSAC Application Fee

All candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee.

Payment must be made through a demand draft drawn in favor of Director, MRSAC, Nagpur, payable at Nagpur.
